A parent is a child's first and most important guide in discovering their world and how they relate to it. Attending the KindyROO program allows the parent to learn about neurological development, the importance of activities in early childhood and it's impact on their children's achievement at school and life.
To give you a better understanding of what you will gain from the KindyROO class, let's take a glimpse of your kindyROO class experience. Class starts off with a welcome song to get the children to focus on the fact that the class has started and helps establish rhythm, sound and participation. A warm up exercise time is then conducted. With the younger children, it is a time to help build the "pathways" in the brain to assist with coordination in the future. For the older children who have some independent coordination, it is a time to develop concentration, to follow direction, and for your instructor to give specific tasks that should be able to be completed by the children of the class age.
The vestibular segment is always included and as you are aware this is our off centre, balancing, up side down and whizzing around time. Body awareness and massage often follow the vestibular exercises. This is when we do activities to help the children learn about how big their bodies are, what different textures and pressures feel like on the different areas of their bodies. Small equipments are then used to help develop their fine motor skills and/or eye hand coordination and/or rhythm.
